The 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor off-road variant offers buyers a choice between two engines, but the more powerful option requires a substantial investment. While the Tremor starts at $50,160, accessing the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6—producing 400 horsepower —demands an additional $11,850 for the “Tremor Ultimate” package.
Without this upgrade, customers are limited to a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four engine, which delivers 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Ford estimates the V-6 version will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 5.2 seconds, making it nearly as fast as previous Explorer ST models equipped with the same engine.
The Tremor Ultimate package isn’t just about raw power. It also includes premium features like a 14-speaker B&O sound system, a fixed glass sunroof, and rain-sensing wipers. For buyers prioritizing performance and luxury, the upgrade is the only way to get the full Tremor experience.
The significant price jump for the V-6 engine highlights Ford’s strategy of positioning higher-performance options as exclusive upgrades, forcing buyers to pay a premium for top-tier capabilities.
