Bentley Expands Continental GT Lineup with New Performance-Focused ‘S’ Models

13

Bentley is refining its Continental GT strategy with the introduction of the 2026 Continental GT S and GTC S trims. These models split the difference between the standard GT and the higher-performance Speed variant, offering a more focused driving experience without the top-tier price tag.

Performance Enhancements: Borrowing from Porsche’s Playbook

The move mirrors Porsche’s approach with the 911, where numerous sub-models cater to specific preferences. The GT S and GTC S retain the base car’s 671-horsepower twin-turbocharged V-8 engine but add a sport exhaust system for a more aggressive sound. More importantly, they inherit the Bentley Performance Active Chassis from the Speed and Mulliner trims. This includes:

  • Torque vectoring
  • Four-wheel steering
  • An electronic limited-slip differential
  • Upgraded dampers
  • An active anti-roll system

While straight-line acceleration remains unchanged, these upgrades dramatically improve handling and responsiveness. The result is a more engaging driving experience geared towards enthusiasts.

Styling: Darker, More Aggressive Aesthetic

To visually distinguish the S models, Bentley offers a new Blackline Specification. This replaces chrome trim with gloss-black elements, creating a more sinister appearance. Key changes include:

  • Tinted headlights and taillights
  • Blackened tailpipes
  • A black rear diffuser
  • A gloss-black grille and front spoiler
  • Black versions of the iconic winged B logo

The Blackline kit enhances the car’s visual appeal, making it stand out without being overly ostentatious.

Pricing and Market Positioning

Bentley has not yet announced official pricing, but estimates suggest the GT S will land around $275,000, while the GTC S convertible will be closer to $300,000. This positions the S trims as a compelling alternative for buyers seeking performance enhancements without the full cost of the Speed model.

By expanding the Continental GT range, Bentley is further segmenting its luxury performance market, offering customers more choice and refinement in their high-end automotive purchases.

The 2026 Bentley Continental GT S models represent a calculated move to capture a wider audience within the luxury grand tourer segment.
