A new electric vehicle (EV) developed through a partnership between Huawei and state-owned automaker GAC will hit the Chinese market in June 2026. The vehicle, dubbed the Aistaland GT7, has drawn comparisons to the Porsche Panamera in its design, but with a distinctly Chinese tech twist. This launch marks a significant move by Huawei into direct automotive production, leveraging its technological prowess in EV components and software.

Aistaland: The Brand and Its Origins

Aistaland is the joint brand resulting from the collaboration between Huawei and GAC. The name itself, an acronym for “AI Start New Land,” suggests the ambition behind the project: to establish a new presence in the burgeoning EV market. Leading the venture is Liu Jiaming, a veteran with 25 years of experience at GAC Toyota and GAC Group. The brand’s Chinese name, Qijing (translated as Venue), hints at its focus on becoming a key player in China’s automotive landscape.

Rigorous Testing and Key Specifications

The Aistaland GT7 has undergone extensive real-world testing in extreme conditions, from -35°C in Hailar to 46°C in Turpan, proving its adaptability to diverse climates. The vehicle boasts a large body with dimensions of 5050/1980/1470 mm and a long 3,000 mm wheelbase, exceeding the Zeekr 001 (Geely) in length by 95 mm.

Key features include:

  • Advanced LiDAR System: An 896-line LiDAR sensor from Huawei capable of detecting obstacles as small as 14 cm high at distances of up to 122 meters, even in darkness.
  • High-Voltage System: An 800V high-voltage system for faster charging and improved efficiency.
  • Harmony OS Cockpit: Huawei’s proprietary Harmony OS powering a fully digital cockpit.
  • Xpixel Headlamps: Innovative headlamps that can project safety warnings and navigation cues directly onto the road.
  • Active Suspension: Ensuring a smoother and more controlled ride.

Powertrain and Market Positioning

While specific powertrain details remain undisclosed, the GT7 is confirmed as a battery electric vehicle (BEV) powered by two electric motors. The estimated price tag of around 300,000 yuan ($43,525 USD) positions it as a direct competitor to models like the Zeekr 001. The striking resemblance to the Porsche Panamera is intentional, appealing to luxury-minded consumers seeking advanced technology at a competitive price point.
