LDV fires and fuel lines

19

Bad news.
Again.

Ateco Automotive is recalling 8643 LDV Deliver 9 vans.
The fuel system has a defect.
Specifically the low-pressure fuel line.

It doesn’t meet specs.
Manufacturing error? Yes.

The line deteriorates over time, letting fuel leak.
This isn’t just an inconvenience.
Leaking fuel plus an ignition source equals fire.
You also lose power while driving, which is its own terrifying scenario.

This recall replaces the one from November 2024 that flagged nearly 12000 vehicles.
So what’s different?

The current net is 8643 vans produced between 2019 and 2023.
A VIN list exists, obviously, if you need to check.
The old notice is there too.

Loss of power and vehicle fire increase the risk of death or injury.

Harsh reading?
Maybe.
Accurate though.

Don’t panic but do act.
Go to an authorized dealer.
They inspect the vehicle and swap the fuel line if it’s bad.
Free of charge.

Why are we talking about LDVs so often?

Earlier this year, in February 2026, both the gas and electric eDeliver variants faced another recall for airbag control units.
Before that in 2021 it was a brake pipe.

Sixty-two-three vans there.
Brake fluid leaks meant brake failure.
And now the fire risk.

Is the design sound or just the production process flawed?

Check your VIN.
Get it looked at.

The road stays the same, but your van might not.
