A routine car test drive at Performance Luxury Sport dealership in Ohio escalated into a disturbing incident when a man allegedly abducted a sales associate during a Jeep Wrangler evaluation. Todd Marrs, the suspect, reportedly forced the employee to remain with him against her will after deviating from the dealership route.
The Incident Unfolds
According to reports from WBNS, Marrs requested a test drive and took a female salesperson along for the ride. Instead of returning directly to the dealership, he drove to a warehouse parking lot, where he allegedly held her against her will, demanding she “be a good girl.” When the salesperson attempted to contact her colleagues, Marrs is accused of seizing her phone and throwing it.
Erratic Behavior and Return to Dealership
The situation grew more bizarre when Marrs allegedly used the test drive as an opportunity to run errands, including picking up a friend from a nearby hospital. Eventually, he drove back to the dealership with both the saleswoman and his companion. The dealership staff had been alerted and shared the employee’s location prior to her return.
Legal Consequences
Marrs has been indicted on charges of abduction and disrupting public services. Depending on the severity of the charges (third or second-degree felony), he could face up to eight years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000. The incident highlights the potential dangers of one-on-one interactions during vehicle sales and serves as a reminder for dealerships to review safety protocols for test drives.
This case demonstrates that even seemingly normal interactions, such as a car test drive, can quickly turn dangerous, underscoring the importance of vigilance and immediate action when encountering suspicious behavior.
